Sunday photos

Barry and Mark with new-best-friends Glen and Paula at Port O' Call.
Johnny Gumbo thought a shot of his Port O' Call cheeseburger would be an appetizing sight. However, I'm not sure this photo conveys his vision.
Glen and Paula posing with one of Glen's childhood buddies as we enter Jazzfest on Sunday afternoon.

Sorry, my camera batteries died. There is a general store in the festival that carries batteries, but I found them sold out. My bad.

Saturday photos

A barefoot Jimmy Buffett playing to a huge crowd of Parrottheads in the final Saturday performance.
View of Jimmy Buffett crowd from my trapped position (wasting away again...) to the left of the stage.
Post-Jazz Fest crawfish boil held at a residence close by the fairgrounds.
School children performing on the street outside Jazzfest to raise money for their damaged school.
View of the crowd leaving the festival down streets of damaged, mostly abandoned houses.
Amid the festive atmosphere, a destroyed house just outside the fairgrounds reminds one that all is not yet well in New Orleans.
View of the massive crowd at Jimmy Buffett's closing set
Bobby Lounge set in the Grandstand.
View from our spot about halfway back during Robert Randolph & the Family Band's outstanding set.
Another view during the Robert Randolph set.
The Spiritualettes look and sound great in the Gospel tent!
Johnnyk finally finds the Gospel (tent). Looking good in his Johnny Gumbo shirt.

Friday photos

Food booths where we do lots of damage.
Sheraton Fais Do-Do Stage - lots of zydeco and dancin'
Barry and Gumbo pose with friends.
Two very unsavory-looking characters.

Mother's Restaurant across from our hotel where we had the Marcia Ball sighting.
Early morning solitary walk downtown past the Louisiana Music Factory. Not open, so no new additions to the music collection. Across from the House of Blues.

LMF amazing in-store performance schedule during Jazz Fest - here
Johnny Gumbo (in famous piano shirt) mug shot in the elevator immediately after the Marcia Ball sighting. Gumbo bought the shirt because it was SO unique. At the fairgrounds, we stopped counting the shirt (and its numerous variations) at approximately 35,357.

Next year, Friday of the 2nd week will officially be proclaimed Johnny Gumbo Piano Shirt Day, which will be celebrated by taking pictures of Gumbo with anyone else wearing the shirt.

So many choices, so full of delicious food.
